There Are People Who Touch You Without Hugging You And Take Care Of You Without Being

There are people who touch you without hugging you and take care of you without being

The love, friendship or affection of parents for their children go beyond the skin and the senses. Because what is authentic is sustained and transcends like a psychic tendon, like a crush without an arrow, showing you that there are people who touch you without hugging you, and people who are still there, taking care of you even without being present, because their bond remains unbreakable, like graphene.

Thinking for a moment that the basis of our human relationships and our affections is limited exclusively to a chemical formula where oxytocin, dopamine and serotonin are combined can take away some of the magic from the matter. Teacher Carl Sagan once said, very aptly, that sometimes just watching science progress by answering our most common questions sometimes makes us feel a little insignificant.

For example, discovering that we live on a tiny blue planet with a “sad” lost star, in a galaxy tucked into a forgotten corner of a universe, where there are millions and millions of galaxies as well, can certainly make you a little hopeless. However, and here is the truly great thing about the subject, the human being is something more than a set of cells, tissues and neurotransmitters. We are more than a sparkling point in the vast ocean of what we call the cosmos.

People have the ability to connect with each other. We do it like the Moon with the oceans, like the satellites with their planets, like the remains of fossil ice that make up the rings of Saturn. We connect with each other without the need to touch, through those emotions that help us and guide us even when we no longer have some people with us …

The awakening of consciousness through the invisible contact of emotions

In recent years we are seeing how the always interesting topic of robots and artificial intelligences increasingly fill the scientific news section and also our television offer. A few months ago we were able to reflect on the subject with the series “Westworld”.

In it we were shown that thin, but fascinating line, which in essence makes us human. We talk about self-consciousness and those subtle cognitive processes that little by little build our concept of humanity.

The series showed us how this awakening to the consciousness of robots or non-human entities was achieved in two ways : the first was by accessing the often traumatic memories themselves, to that substrate where the past experiences that make up the story itself are found. .

The second key in this awakening was the emotions. Philosophers actually describe this process as “qualities.” That is, thanks to the senses we are able to capture sensations and, little by little, the sensations generate pleasant and unpleasant memories.

Thus, we could say almost without error that one of our greatest powers as human beings is to be able to connect with others emotionally. We often do it through our eyes, without the need to touch each other and through that perfect camera that according to scientists has 250 megapixels of resolution.

That contact is enough for us to evoke a thousand sensations, dozens of thoughts, memories and sensations that further enliven that flame that makes up who we are: humans who above anything else want to be loved and offer the same affection.

The people who guide us without being with us

We already know that people are the result of a precise equation made up of a consciousness and a magical emotional fabric. To these factors we should add a third: memory. We spend much of our time remembering things, facts, events, links from the past, happy facts and difficult moments.

In this moviola that makes up the movie of our life, it is common to regularly evoke those people who are no longer with us and who were very significant at a given moment. In this type of situation, there is also no contact through the senses, it is again the emotions that erect, tile by tile, that invisible bridge between us and who is no longer there to let us guide us through memories, moments lived, the advice given, the conversations enjoyed.

On the other hand, and as a curious fact to reflect on, it is worth bringing here the controversial theory of ” the morphic resonance hypothesis”.  When Rupert Sheldrake published it in 1981 it received endless criticism from the scientific community, and yet it had in its essence a small nuance that fits very well with that type of invisible contact that people have with each other and that from some point of view way, it guides us and determines us.

According to Professor Sheldrake,  that there are people who are connected with others in such an intense way, without the need for physical contact, it is rather due to a kind of collective memory. A collection of memories where sometimes we “recognize” certain people as more valuable and important to us.

This idea, in turn, is usually related to the holistic conceptions of Psychology, which reminded us that people, in addition to being individual entities, belong to a community that must be accepted and cared for.

To conclude, all of us are the result of our relationships and our bonds, both past and present. We are in essence, not only what we physically experience through the skin and the senses, but also what we feel through the emotions and what our brain has stored in memory, whether it is the present or perhaps, in that memory. collective memory that Carl Gustav Jung told us about at the time …
