I Complain, You Complain … We All Complain

I complain, you complain ... we all complain

Some of the people around you are likely to be fond of complaining. “The price of fruit has increased”, “my boss is unbearable”, “how hot it is today” … and the list is so long that you can’t see the end …

In contrast, individuals who never have complaints about what happens “randomly” in their lives are counted on the fingers of one hand. Complaints have become our daily companions.

The complaints, our routines

It is true that there are different “levels of complaint” and that some may be understandable and even justifiable, but there are others that only show a pessimistic and victimizing attitude towards life.

“Today is very cloudy” and “what a sunny day” are two phrases that the same person can say within a few hours of each other. “I have a lot of work” and “they do not call me for any job”, with a lapse of weeks …

It seems that nothing can make this person happy, no matter what happens. There are no grays, everything is black or white in your life. He finds such strange and conspicuous reasons for complaining that not even the most skilled writer could imagine such an interesting text for his books.

No one is exempt from problems and you surely know that very well. However, we can take a certain attitude in life and be grateful for what we have and even what we don’t.

A Hindu proverb says: “If you are not happy with what you have, you will not be happy with what you lack . So if we complain because it’s cold and also when it’s hot, what do we want?

Perhaps, to start not complaining so much, we should consider what we like and secondly, look for the positive in each situation. Because everything that happens to us has “a glass half full and a half empty glass.” Even in the most painful and horrible of our lives we can see the rainbow after the storm.

The reasons for the complaints

Did you also know that the complaint does not lead to anything? That is, not for complaining they will lower the price of fruits, nor will your boss be the best in the world, neither will the road magically be alone for you, nor will the weather be perfect 365 days a year.

According to one theory, people who complain are not complaining about the particular issue, but rather that is their way of showing how dissatisfied they are, how empty they feel, or how lonely they experience. This is because they have not yet been able to find “the spice of life” or be happy with the little everyday details.

Second, people complain as an inherited habit, either by family or by society. In many cases, the only thing that comes out of their mouths are bad things and they consider that if there were no complaints, neither would the topics of conversation.

Another reason why “complaining” (with permission to use this word) exists, is because the lack of empathy causes a great egocentricity. Believing that we deserve more than others for unfounded or imagined reasons makes us unhappy all the time.

If we don’t get what we want, we complain. We do not put ourselves in the place of the other, we think that it is raining, there is a delay in the bus or the milk increased because the Universe is against us.

And finally, we complain because we don’t know how to be grateful. Today you may complain about the price of meat, but think for a moment, how many people in the world cannot access food? You complain about your work, do you know how many unemployed there are on our planet?

And so we could go on listing things for which you should say “Thank you” when you get up and go to bed. Complaining will not get you anywhere, because simply charging against destiny, God or the Solar System is not going to improve the situation.

If you don’t like something, try to change it, but don’t complain. Get out of your “comfort zone” and start taking action for what you want to be different.

Be the change you want to see in the world!
